THEATRE

UNDER PRESSURE

Written and directed by award-winning playwright Helena Enright.

Sometimes when under pressure the choices we make can affect not only our own lives but the lives of others forever. Kevin and his friend Ronan make a decision one New Year's Eve that has consequences neither of them can imagine. Jack, Simon's father and Ronan recall the events that led to that decision and the consequences it has since had on their lives while David, a retired paramedic, recalls how his life has been affected by similar decisions.

The writing style is inspired by a form of documentary theatre, Theatre of Testimony which fuses real people’s words with intimate storytelling. Incorporating material directly from interviews with real people Under Pressure reminds us that driving brings with it a responsibility both to ourselves and to others that we should never forget.
